At Level Creek, we are extremely proud of our Autism Program. Through some very generous donations, grants received from the North Gwinnett Schools Foundation and lots of fund raising, during Autism Awareness Week, we have been able to purchase six ipads! Another generous parent donated three Otterbox Defender cases!
We did some research with our own students and they loved the research based apps. that we tested. The possibilities are endless from social skills training, to multi-sensory math instruction, writing practice, fine motor and phonics practice!
Thank you to all that have helped us launch this project and thank you for those that will help in the future to obtain what we need and help with continued maintenance of the program. Presently, these ipads are used with a group of 26 students in two classrooms.
Update: We were able to purchase the three Otterbox cases that we needed! So, we have all six ipads protected. We purchased a VGA converter though funds provided by the PTA for instructional support! Now we are able to project apps. and train the students on them. Thank you PTA!
